Tornadoes likely in NE Oklahoma today!

The SPC has issued a moderate risk for severe weather, including tornadoes, in parts of northeast Oklahoma and southeast Kansas today. I had planned to chase today, but I unfortunately hurt my back this morning, which is going to keep me on the sidelines today. Good luck to all going out chasing today. It will be interesting to see if there are any photogenic tornadoes before dark. Tornadoes often happen under cover of darkness from November through February. Also, these storms are going to be racing northeast at 40 mph or more. I take a little solace in the fact that will be a difficult chase, and it is in no way a "slam dunk." I am obviously very disappointed, and worried for the safety of those in northeast Oklahoma, with strong tornadoes a very distinct possibility. Stay tuned for updates.
