61-degree temperature difference in Oklahoma!
An Arctic cold front is pushing through the southern Plains today, bringing in a week of subfreezing temperatures and a chance for winter precipitation. Parts of Oklahoma are now bearing the brunt of the chill. Note on the map below, from the Oklahoma Mesonet, that it is 16°F in Cimarron County, in the far western Panhandle, and 77°F in Tillman County, in the far southwest part of the state, ahead of the front. That is 61° of temperature difference! It is still 68° here in Norman, but Old Man Winter isn't far away. Let's hope there isn't much freezing rain this week....
